Japanese robbery cases are reportedly on the rise, with a total of 104 robberies nationwide in February 2023,

an increase of about 40% compared to the same month the previous year, according to the National Police Agency.

A comparison of the number of crimes per 100,000 people between Japan and the U.S. shows that in 2019, the total number of homicides in Japan was 950, while in the U.S., it was 16,425.

The number of robberies and crimes in Japan are still much lower than in America and many parts of the world

however, considering that Japan is known for having one of the lowest crime rates in the world this is really surprising

Also, Many perpetrators are believed to have applied for illegal “dark part-time jobs” through social media.
