After Mike Tyson beat the world record for youngest Heavyweight Champion of the world.
After a disastrous celebrity marriage to Robin Givens which was followed by a 3 year prison sentence for the rape of the Washington Beauty Queen.
After taking a bite out of Evander Holyfield, resulting in the loss of his boxing license and a 3 million dollar fine.
After quitting boxing altogether, claiming he had lost all passion for the sport that had been his whole life since the age of 14.

Mike Tyson tried to escape the image of the brutal fighter that had been built up by the media for the past 20 years, spending more time with his racing pigeons in Arizona.

The escape did not last long and Mike was forced to come out of retirement due to massive debt from his lavish lifestyle and drug addiction. In 2005 he said he was ashamed of the his life and that he felt like a failure, a spiral that would continue into 2006 when he was arrested for driving under the influence and cocaine possession.

Mike would eventually chose to work through his issues creatively by writing and performing a one man show called Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth. Seriously guys, I’m not making this up.

The might not of done so well but the man really lit it up in The Hangover and his tattoo made a cameo in the sequel but there are some even stranger projects like his work with Adult Swim which we will get into after the intro.
What's going on guys, my name is Michael McCrudden documenting the life and career of Iron Mike Tyson after his initial rise to fame, here for you on After They Were Famous.
We have already done a Before They Were Famous on Mike Tyson and 200K of you guys watched that so let's see how this does – as always, let me know who to document next – down below.

Mike Tyson was born June 30th 1966 in Brooklyn New York surrounded by poverty, gangs and drugs. By the age of 13 Tyson had been arrested multiple times, developed a cocaine addiction that would follow him throughout his life, a rough and tough upbringing earned for him a taste for fighting.
