Jesus is describing the signs of the end times, or the events that will precede his second coming. He is warning his disciples and future believers that there will be wars and rumors of wars, and that these events are just the beginning of the end times. Jesus is emphasizing the importance of being prepared for the coming of the Son of Man, as described in Matthew 24:30, "At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory."
Therefore, Jesus is not necessarily predicting specific wars, but rather indicating that wars and conflicts will continue to occur throughout history until his return.
