This week, I'm sharing with you another of my favorite quotes from the book. This one is by George Mason from the chapter on Law.
We suffer from a great lack of respect for Law in this nation. From the Borders to the rising crime, from the riots on the streets to people charging into stores and taking what they want, we have a growing sense of entitlement in this nation rooted in a victim mentality. This victim entitlement creates a propensity to ignore the Law under the misguided belief that it does not apply to them.
We have raised a group of spoiled children who believe it is their right to break the law.
If we don't agree on what is legal and illegal. If we don't have respect for the law to enforce it consistently across the board, then we do not understand the Rule of Law.
And a nation that does not understand the Rule of Law will not last.
A solemn warning indeed.
