MALCOLM X - Before They Were Gone

Before Malcolm X became a central figure of the civil rights movement in the 1950’s and 60’s, a symbol of radical change, and one of the most influential African Americans in history...

By the time Malcolm was 6 years old, he had seen his family terrorized, his home burnt, and the death of his father at the hands of white supremacists. During his imprisonment years later, he was introduced to the Nation of Islam and proved to be an inspirational but controversial spokesman. In his later years, he and his family would be victim to similar hate crimes faced by his father, but this time, it was at the hands of his own brothers.

I’m Michael McCrudden documenting the life of revolutionary leader Malcolm X prior to his assassination, here for you on Before They Were Gone. Now a bunch of you have been requesting this for a while, I’ve also recently covered the story of Muhammad Ali. Who would you like to hear about next? Let me know in the comments below, and as always feel free to leave your messages or personal stories about Malcolm.
