Why Should You Die? Repent And Live!

Today we start off in the Palm Sunday Scripture from Luke 19. Jesus is weeping over the city/people of Jerusalem because they did not receive Jesus as the Messiah. Interestingly Jesus says this on Palm Sunday when the entire city is in an uproar shouting Hosanna and celebrating Jesus. Yet just a few days later they would be shouting “crucify him”. Jesus knows our hearts. He wants us to receive Him fully and trust Him fully and recognize Him fully, not just on Sundays or when we need something or when we mess up. Jesus is to be our Savior and Lord everyday always.
The Bible says “the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”. God makes it very clear in His Word that He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. Rather, God is long suffering towards us, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance. So repent! Turn to God and live!
