A fantastic opportunity to see how the 'covert' feathers of the wings lie like layers of shingles over the primary and secondary flight feathers.​At the bottom of the screen, the longest feathers are primary flight feathers (and extend from the hand of the wing).​the long feathers just above that are the secondary flight feathers (extend from the forearm)​and then we see the layers of covert feathers shingled above those, all the way to the bend, which is actually the bend in the wrist.​These are not 'shoulders' even though they sort of look like that to us.
