Allah ordered to have taqwa, which is fulfilling the obligations and refraining from sins.

Allah the Exalted revealed:
يَــٰأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱتَّقُواْ ٱللهَ وَلتَنظُر نَفسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَت لِغَدٍ
[which means] “O you who believed, have taqwa, and let each self look at what it has prepared for tomorrow.”

Taqwa is fulfulling the obligations and refraining from the sins.
