Wiggity Wack Smack Attack, Jack! Felling & bucking a 60' Poplar
1 year ago

Poplar are weeds up here! They are the first to bud out in the spring and last to hold leaves in fall, which shade out our hardwoods (birch, oak, maple) and keep the ground wet. This is the first step in revitalizing our forest to produce quality timber and while that timber grows - we'll graze sheep, pigs, and anything else in the newly created silvopasture.
Like anything else in nature - death will bring new life for future generations (and we'll keep warm burning the wood in the process) 😁
