NEW Stronger Alloy Band Wheels, Sawmill Upgrade - Band Sawmill Build #25

Installing new alloy wheels on my homemade mobile band sawmill to replace the old spoke wheels that were quite wobbly and eccentric. These aluminium rims allow also for more blade tension and thus more accurate cuts. This undertaking wasn't just a bolt-on deal, I had to turn adapters/inserts to custom fit the bearings I already use on the mill into the new alloy wheels so I didn't have to change anything else. It worked out surprisingly well despite my previous thoughts and fears. Also later when I adjusted the guide rollers I noticed they pointed up a little - it was maybe due to the derailment of the saw carriage a month ago. Nothing was bent, just the slack was taken out of some things. I adjusted the rollers and it has a new blade on it now so it should make near perfect cuts from now on. One more thing that got done was the stupid height adjustment hand crank system that only allowed me to cut material with 30 mm increment. I modified a hand winch to replace it and now every click on the winch equals to 1 mm. So I can cut material down to 1 mm in thickness. Theoretically. :D Thanks for watching and stay tuned for future videos. Cheers!
