Oak Hill Church of Christ 4-2-23 Message: "Your History Doesn't Have To Be Your Future"

Oak Hill Church of Christ preaching minister, Randy Sterling, delivers a message on the value of God's forgiveness and salvation in our personal lives.

Most people have baggage. They have things about their past that they aren't proud of, even things that are the fault of others. Instead of dealing with those problems, many will choose to simply try to forget about them. Some may even decide to internalize their suffering and believe they can never be freed from their identity as a victim.

God's example of forgiveness and salvation present a different option. God suggests that the best way to deal with a difficult past is to come to terms with it, and to mend it, instead of ignoring it.

Sometimes this means mending relationships with people who may even be family members. God suggests that by following His plan for forgiveness, we will be happier and more content.

Remember that you are more than your past, you are also your future. Consider making today the first day of your new future, instead of another day doomed to be part of your past.
