How a Resin DLP 3D Printer / SLA 3D Printer Works | See How It Works

Light Processing and SLA stands for Stereolithography. DLP 3D Printing is a subset or type of SLA 3D Printing.

Before making a DIY SLA 3D Printer or DIY DLP 3D Printer or any DIY 3D Printer this How To video is a much watch, make sure you share with your friends. We gotta share the knowledge on using UV resin to make awesome, precise and detailed 3D parts.

DLP is a projection method developed by TI (Texas Instruments) that uses a DMD (Digital Micromirror Device) that is made of hundreds of thousands of individual microscopic mirrors that create the pixels in the projected image. A color wheel spins in front of the output beam of light to control color. The RGB color bands can be seen in one of the clips of this video because of the frame rate in the camera.

The output light from the DLP projector ranges into the UV spectrum and is strong enough to cure the photosensitive resin. I used Fun to Do Standard Blend Deep Black resin in this video. This photopolymer resin has provided exceptionally good results for me.

Hopefully this video answered your question of how does a 3D printer work?

The video titled "What Is 3D Printing and How Does It Work? | Mashable Explains" (https://youtu.be/Vx0Z6LplaMU) inspired me to make a video specifically addressing the question of "how does a 3D printer work" for SLA 3D printing. I hope my attempt at a how to video about additive manufacturing titled "How a Resin DLP 3D Printer/SLA 3D Printer Works | See How It Works" answered the question.

The video titled "DLP Projector Stereolithography 3D Printer" by engineerguy (https://youtu.be/97ARLiTHjX0) also covers this topic very well and is demonstrated using the Autodesk Ember 3D Printer.

The principles shown in this video also apply to a homemade DLP 3D Printer like the one shown in the video titled "3D Printer - High Resolution - Homemade - DIY" (https://youtu.be/snOErpOP5Xk) so whether you're doing a diy experiment with 3d printers or not this video tutorial should be of some help.
