Date – Monday, April 3rd - 2023 – St. Nicetas

St. Nicetas was born in Bithynia in 761, and after the death of his father, he was sent to a monastery where he became a disciple of St. Nicephoros. After the abbot's death, Nicetas governed the monastery and was later imprisoned for refusing to accept the Iconoclast heresy. Under pressure from other prelates, he made a concession, but later repented and returned to Constantinople, where he denounced the heresy. He was exiled to Anatolia and made penance for the rest of his life for the concession he had made. St. Nicetas, Pray for us.

The Virgo Pater
COME, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and kindle in them the fire of Thy love.
V. Send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created
R. And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth.
Oremus:
O GOD, Who taught the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant that, by the gift of the same Spirit, we may be always truly wise, and ever rejoice in His consolation. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
