Hey everyone, I know this is a real "damned if you do, damned if you don't" review. This review is my own personal opinion towards the game, not that of a fanboy, I even judged it as a stand alone game, rather than part of the original Devil May Cry series. Which in all honesty it isn't. So please take this into consideration when commentating.

I am not adverse to reboots, neither is Capcom (Bionic Commando has had at least two reboots so far (not including the gameboy ones) and all the Mega Man ones go without saying) but I know it's a double edged sword for a lot of people. You may love the characters and not want to say good bye to them, but on the other hand do you really want to run something you once cherished into the ground? (The Simpsons is a prime example). But this is merely my opinion as a stand alone game, and not part of a longer franchise.

And before anyone brings this up from my past, yes 10 years ago I was offered a job as the character designer for Ninja Theory's "Kung Fu Chaos" (as it was originally going for a manga/anime style), but the offer fell apart because of several frustrating reasons, So while I do have history it bares no relevance whatsoever on this review.

Also, I called this game a button basher, not masher as literally 99% of this game was: Y,Y,Y,Y,Y,Y,Y,Y,Y,Y, LT + Y, Y,Y,Y,Y,Y,Y,Y.
