Guru Larry on Gamesworld - 3/5: Racing Night

Episode 3 is here and today's episode focuses on Racing games, and whan I say games, I mean game as they only use Gran Turismo on the PS1 for the whole episode.

Wow, this game looked amazing when it came out, I used to show everyone how realistic it looked. Man, I was an idiot, it looks like arse now! Even the bloody back wheels clip through the top of the car!!!

Anyhoo, confession time now, I kinda cheated this episode. When I knew my audition was successful I went and bought a bunch of games I had a strong inkling they would have challenges on and I was right in guessing they would have Gran Turismo for one.

At the time this show was filmed, GT wasn't out yet in the UK, so I had bought and played a Japanese import copy to practice on. Better luck was that they chose my favourite car in the game (the Honda NSX) and my "sort of" favorite track. And that corner gets everyone everytime if they don't know the track or the handling of the NSX, which tends to oversteer and spin out on corners at a moments notice.

So yeah, I had far far more practice than the other contestants as I owned the game! Well, they did that for the Videators.

Aanndd If you're wondering why I always choose yellow cars on TV, it's because it seems to be my lucky colour, I always win in racing games on TV with yellow cars for some reason!
