Passover: A Covenant Meal

Anciently, covenant meals served as the ratification for a legally binding agreement between two parties. The covenant was confirmed at the threshold/doorway of the house and signified that an exchange of citizenship had taken place between the parties. As part of the ratification process, blood was smeared on the two doorposts and the lintel above the door. Add to that the basin of blood located at the threshold and this sealing of the doorway on four sides, like an altar, provided a boundary for protection. For the ancients, the door/gate was shrine like and a place where one's status could change through the cementing of the covenant agreement. May this Passover be an opportune time to make sure our covenant relationship with Yahweh through His Son, Yeshua is cemented. It's the protection you'll need!!
