Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson were key figures in the Dallas Cowboys organization during the 1990s. Jerry Jones bought the Cowboys in 1989 and immediately hired Jimmy Johnson as head coach. The two had previously worked together at the University of Arkansas and at the University of Miami.

Under their leadership, the Cowboys went from a 1-15 record in 1989 to winning back-to-back Super Bowls in 1992 and 1993. Johnson was known for his aggressive and innovative approach to coaching, while Jones was known for his shrewd business sense and willingness to spend money on top talent.

Despite their success, Jones and Johnson had a contentious relationship, and their working relationship eventually fell apart. In 1994, Johnson left the Cowboys, and the team was never able to recapture the same level of success that they had under his leadership.
