In this project, we are removing all of the trees that don't provide desirable seed for the future stand. I marked to leave: swamp white, red and black oaks, sugar maple and some diversity species.

Once the trees are cleared, I will go in with herbicide and treat the stumps of beech so they don't take over the stand, as beech tends to root sucker and dominate the site.
The tops will provide cover until the new stand begins to grow. On this property, we will have 20 acres of browse and cover and another 15 acres of forage. Deer will fill this property up and the landowner is going to have excellent hunting.
