Primordial Musings - The Steam of Goldbug Hot Springs

A hike to an Idaho mountainside hot springs leads to cleaning of body and mind. In the heat of ancient steam we find our thoughts often lead to primordial musing - To gaze with a myriad host of eyes, upon our conquest of the endless sea, beneath an ether of numberless skies, to be as one, yet as many things be.

The One Truth of My Invention

I have waded the swamps of a million seasons,
Thought in a thousand lives,
Discovered a hundred reasons
Why my existence so strives.

In what form shall I know
The one truth of my invention?
Mother, with what intention
Did you crawl from the salt sea so long ago?

Access to this hot springs requires a hike from the trailhead which starts at the end of the county road. The first 1/4 mile of the trail passes through private property with public access provided by an easement. Dogs must be leashed while crossing the private property. Please protect access to the hot springs by respecting private property.

DIRECTIONS: Located 23 miles south of Salmon on Highway 93. South of the community of Elk Bend, turn east on the county maintained road and travel for 0.3 miles to arrive at the trailhead.
