BANK BAILOUTS, CORRUPTION, AND DEMOCRACY IN CANADA:

Canadians were told back in 2008 and 2009, when the U.S. banks were failing and being bailed out ... Canadians were told that our banks were so strong and so great that they did not need to be bailed out. They weathered the storm and came out as strong as ever. But that story was a total lie ... in fact Canadian banks were bailed out to the tune of about $114 BILLION ... a huge amount. I'm not saying that the bailouts were a bad idea, nobody wanted our banking system to fail in any way at that time .... but lying to Canadians about the reality of what was done was certainly wrong and cannot be forgiven.
And the bigger problem is that so much of what they tell us is a lie .. and when I say 'they' I mean our ruling class. The .01% and the corporate elites that really run Canada. We think our democratic governments run Canada for us.... but the reality is our governments are not democratic, they don't work for us, they work for Big Business, and Canada is run by, and for, Big Business. THAT is something that we have to come to grips with and deal with, but so far we can't even begin to fight that fight.
We're now in the next Financial Crisis ... we have inflation, rising interest rates, a massive amount of debt, crazy home prices and rents, supply chains that don't work as well as they once did, a major war in Europe, and etc. And all we can do is wait to see what lies we are told this time around. And if we are smart, we won't believe 'the liars' this time.
We have to deal with the fact that our media and our governments don't work for us .. they have been taken over by Corporate Canada and they work for Corporate Canada. So our job is to get our democracy back and to build the free press that we so desperately need. And in the video we talk about one way to do that.
