Becoming intentional demands that we bring more of an unadulterated presence and attention to the fleeting moments in our lives. This is a grand task - the work of a lifetime.

Our ability to bring more of ourselves to our daily, weekly, yearly existence depends on our mental health. When our attention is limited due to trauma, when we are distracted by automatic negative thoughts/emotions, when we're steeped in inner conflict, or when we live (or have lived) in abusive environments or relationships, all of these are the enemy of greater presence and intentionality.

The journey to greater intentionality is a hefty fight, and it will repeatedly rub you against the limitations of your inner/external world. It will force adaptation.
