Controversial social media personality Andrew Tate and three others have been released from detention in Romania, where they were being held on accusations of human trafficking and forming an organized crime group. The group, including Tate's brother, were accused of exploiting women and forcing them to participate in commercially-distributed videos. The Tates deny the allegations. After spending three months in custody, a court in Romania has allowed Andrew Tate and his co-accused to be placed under house arrest while awaiting further legal proceedings. While no charges have been brought against the suspects, six victims, including minors, have been identified. Tate, a former professional kickboxer who has been banned from multiple online platforms due to his misogynistic and hateful comments, has been living in Romania since 2017.
