Today we are sampling Marion by Superstition Meadery. This is a Blackberry Blueberry Raspberry Mead. Marion Mead won a Gold Medal in 2016 at the Mazer Cup International Mead Competition, is ranked as a top 50 mead in the world on Ratebeer.com with a score of 100 points; and it is a top 50 mead in the world on Untappd. It is a 13.5% ABV semi-sweet mead using the juice from blackberries, blueberries and raspberries, and Arizona wildflower honey.

Appearance - Deep reddish-purple in color, still, medium body.
Nose - Smashed fresh raspberry and blackberry with notes of rose and currant play with honey and herbal tea.
Taste - Big, jammy body. Well-balanced sweetness and acidity lingers on the palate and gives way to sharp honey and light tannins. Tart finish.
Soul - Thick, complex, and indulgent.
Pairing - Osso Buco, cheesecake, wood-fired pizza, dark chocolate, goat cheese.
