One pernicious lie that he regularly encounters is that religion should stay out of politics. This thinking has he even infected the church. He’s heard otherwise upstanding Christians say, “I don’t get involved in politics. I just preach the Gospel.”

“When the true God is put on the shelf, the government becomes God,” Turek counters.

He goes further: Politics impacts your ability to preach the Gospel. AndJesus himself tells us “to be active members of our communities.”

Another lie: “You can’t legislate morality.”

“Actually, all laws declare one behavior right and the opposite behavior wrong,” Turek said.
