In 1981, a new unique intelligence unit appeared in the KGB of the USSR, which differs from similar military groups within the country's Foreign Intelligence Service. The training was varied and quite specific. The men were taught air training, rock climbing, mining and explosives, basic intelligence and survival tactics, medicine, foreign languages, geography, atomic weapons and the structure of nuclear reactors.
