Hawley watered down bill still is predicated on vesting the president with new unilateral censorship powers using the 1977 statute that supposedly pertains to "wartime or national emergencies."

As Barnes states in the footage below.

Plenty of laws are already on the books and plenty of power already available to deal with the specific issue if China is doing things impermissibly. And if we do not like gathering information, we should ban it, period. We should NOT be banning platforms.

We should NOT be banning people. Speech, we shouldn't be surveilling it in the first place.
