Joint Base Andrews lifts lockdown following report of armed person

Joint Base Andrews in Prince George’s County, Maryland, has lifted its lockdown following reports of an armed individual near the base housing on Thursday afternoon.

According to a Facebook post by Joint Base Andrews, security personnel conducted a thorough search of the base and did not find anyone matching the description of the suspect in the report, WTOP News reported.

As a precautionary measure, security forces will continue to conduct door-to-door searches of the base housing, and there will be an increased security presence in the area.
