Is Drug Legalization Making America Better and Why Do Drug Cartels Continue to Persist?

For the past several years marijuana legalization has spread across the United States. Libertarians and liberals cheer this effort as they believe the government should not be involved in regulating personal drug use. However, it is hard not to notice the deleterious effects drugs have on the community. Should we continue to support the legalization of drugs, or should we keep some restrictions?
