Adding Meat Chickens to the Flock + Homemade Chicken Tractor | David Coleman Daily Thoughts #47

As a hobbyist Chicken Farmer I have always wanted to add meat birds to my egg laying flock. We currently have 27 chickens, 20 of which are about to start laying eggs in the coming months. As the financial crisis worsens and our food supply breaks down further, getting affordable clean meat is going to be extremely difficult. I've decided to build my own chicken tractor and start raising meat chickens for my family and friends, just in case. I've decided to raise Red Rangers instead of Cornish Cross, because I believe the Rangers have a better standard of life and they are much heartier. Hopefully that'll allow us to raise 3-4 sets of meat birds a year.

I have lived an interesting 28 years - filled with a lot of different career choices. From Social Media Marketing and Web Design to CNC Machining and Truck Building - I have done it all! I'm going to try and share my experiences and some of the things I've learned along the way.
