Dopamine detox is hard because it means we have to live. We don't like to live; we don't want to live. Most of us think we do. Just like most of us think we like the truth. The truth is a bitter pill to swallow, like life itself.

When we take steps back from whatever easily accessible, dopamine flooding activity we're stuck to, we encounter exactly those things that prevent us from living. On the other side of current limitation is more life. Do we want it, though?
