The Committee on Foreign Affairs convened for a hearing on 'Oversight, Transparency and Accountability of Ukraine Assistance' on Wednesday, March 29 in Washington, DC.

The panel of representatives from the State Department, US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Defense Department are set to deliver statements on oversight over the aid provided to Kiev since February 2022.

The committee aims to work on more careful measures to provide a thorough examination on the ground in Ukraine of whether aid is being distributed according to its planned purpose.

While most Republicans in both chambers expressed their support for further aid to Kyiv, a small group of lawmakers signed a 'Ukraine Fatigue' resolution in February this year, calling for an end to all financial assistance and urging both sides to renew peace negotiations.

Washington has provided Ukraine's government with $113 billion in military and humanitarian aid since the beginning of the military conflict in 2022. US president Joe Biden announced another $6 billion in his budget proposal for 2024 earlier in March.
