In just six months, nine police officers have lost their lives in Canada: eight while on active duty.
Investigative Solutions Network Inc. CEO Sean Sparling joins Antony Robart to discuss this disturbing uptick in officer fatalities and the fundamental changes needed in policing to address the rise in violence.
"It's not about defunding the police or anything like that. It's about coordinating with social services and changing the way we do things."
Sparling says a barrier to change is the lack of political will on all parties.
"There seems to be more interest in listening to the special interest groups and actually rolling up their sleeves and getting something done about it."
