Ancestral Skin Markers Mini Docs is a series of documentary short films that highlight the life, work and passion of ancestral skin markers from across the globe.

Episode one features Mi'kmaw skin marker Jerry Evans working out of St John’s Newfoundland Canada. Jerry has inspired a generation of Mi’kmaw artists from Ktaqmkuk and all across the globe with his masterful prints. Jerry brings his skills as a master print maker to his work as a ancesral skin marker. To see the whole episode head over to my vimeo channel, link in bio.

This episode was supported by Arts Nova Scotia and I acknowledge that support and am thankful for the opportunity to create work that tells the story of our artists and storytellers.

Footage found in the introduction was shot by Steven Recalma, Wes Wilson, Toonasa, Billie Jean Gabriel, and myself. All other footage was filmed on location in Newfoundland by me.
