This will make you so nostalgic & take you right back to your childhood. It’s sooo easy to make and you can store for 3-4 weeks in the fridge- if you use sugar. Traditionally made with jamun but I’ve used black grapes for this recipe.

Ingredients
1 cup water
1 green chilli
1 tbsp jeera
2 inch piece of ginger
3-4 whole peppercorns
2 tsp black salt
2 cup black grapes
3/4 cup sugar

Heat water in a pan. Add in the jeera, green chilli, ginger, peppercorn, black salt & cook this for 2-3 minutes. Add in the grapes & cook for 5 minutes while smashing them. Once the grapes are soft, add in the sugar. Cook till the mixture thickens, strain it & let it cool.
Fill a glass with crushed ice & insert an icecream stick/chopstick in the centre & press it down tightly. Sprinkle some black salt, chaat masala & some lemon juice on the ice. Now, pour over the kala khatta mixture & dig in.

Substitutes
Black grapes- jamun
Sugar- omit/ Jaggery (the mixture can be stored for 1 month in the fridge if you add the sugar)
