K9 TAKEDOWN: High-Speed Police Chase Ends With Suspected Robber's Capture

This dramatic footage shows LAPD officers capturing a suspect wanted for vehicle theft with the help of the K9 unit.

It began when patrolling officers received a report about a burglary from a motor vehicle at the 3700 block of Pasadena Avenue in Los Angeles, in the US State of California on 19th February.

Upon arrival, officers received a suspect description from the reporting person.

The suspect, later identified as Ricardo Penaloza, was spotted nearby and fled on foot before driving away in a dark-coloured Chevrolet pick-up truck at high speed.

Officers initiated a vehicle pursuit that ended when Penaloza lost control, veered off the road, and crashed into a ravine.

Penaloza fled the scene on foot, prompting a K9 search of the surrounding neighbourhood.

He was eventually found hiding in a crawl space under a residence and sustained an injury during the K9 contact.

Penaloza surrendered and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

No officers were reported injured during the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
