Why China's DJI Drones are DESTROYING anything on the BLUE UAS List

China's DJI Drones are some of the absolute best drone technology on the market. Their initial innovation push has outcompeted anything on the Blue UAS List, putout by the Department of Defense's Defense Innovation Unit. Drones such as the DJI Mavic, Mavic Mini, Air, and Phantom are ahead of anything on the approved blue list for unmanned aerial systems to be used in US Government Operations. Skydio is an American drone manufacturer with some promise but they aren't quite there yet. For example you can not swap different LiDAR, RGB, or Thermal sensors on the Skydio 2+. Drone mapping is very difficult to perform without the ability to fully leverage these remote sensing technologies. Photogrammetry, mapping, and inspection are common use cases for aerial drones. Skydio is great for inspections but lacking in the other two.
