In this video we test out the CharJenPro SWITCHUB Dock for the Nintendo Switch, which promises improved visuals, cooling and portability over other similar units.

To purchase a CharJenPro SWITCHUB please visit https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076MPZMHC/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B076MPZMHC&linkCode=as2&tag=rox0c-20&linkId=8d6f0e363cf564e149a6b2b376c9b59

CharJenPro may not a household name but this US-based company has been producing pretty cool accessories for Macbooks and PCs based on Thunderbolt and USB-C connectors for some time. They've recently turned their attention towards the video game world and the super-hot Nintendo Switch for their first entry into that market with the SWITCHUB Pro. It's small in size but cram-packed with features.

To connect the SWITCHUB to your TV you'll need both a power supply and an HDMI Cable. I used both OEM components from Nintendo, however you can also visit https://castlemaniagames.com/shop?keywords=KMD-NS-7314&olsPage=products%2Fnintendo-switch-ac-power-adapter&page=5 as CastlemaniaGames also offers a power supply that will work with the CharJenPro SWITCHUB quite nicely and is small and portable itself.

One of the neatest features about the SWITCHUB is the small, silver button on the back of it. This button toggles you between desktop mode and TV mode, all without having to remove your Switch from the dock itself. This means you can play in tabletop mode and charge your Switch while playing and NOT have to disconnect the HDMI cable from your TV. Pretty slick!

Games look really sharp when played through the SWITCHUB on on your TV. Whether on my 4K Samsung or my 1080P Element Back Friday special televisions games looked really sharp. CharJenPro states that Zelda: Breath of the Wild looks even better on their Dock than the stock Nintendo dock and looking at the footage they may have a point. But even in less graphically intensive games like Sonic Mania I did notice an increase in video quality over other 3rd party docks I've tested.

Why it RoX!
- Tiny size
- All the same USB Ports as original
- Play in tabletop or TV mode at the push of a button
- Some improvement in graphic fidelity
- Improved airflow and cooling
- No risk of scratching your Switch when docked
- US-based Support

What Could be Improved?
- Price is a little high for not including at least a power supply
- Sometimes toggling between tabletop and TV mode took a few extra button presses
- Only available directly or via Amazon at this time

Should You Buy One?
The SWITCHUB is an amazingly small piece of hardware that, if you travel, will be the smallest dock you'll find at this time. It's full featured, has all the same ports as stock with improved airflow and cooling. Even at $45 plus $15-$20 for a power supply you still have a unit that is more portable and less expensive than the OEM dock from Nintendo. The graphics look great too! If you are traveling and looking for a dock to throw in a travel bag or backpack the SWITCHUB should fit the bill quite nicely.
