In this video, we are going to discuss some changes coming both to the channel in terms of presentation, content and in terms of my personal future.

Way back in the dark ages, I'm talking about the early nineties, I got involved in the world of radio-controlled models. A friend of mine, Chuck Armelli, brought a copy of RC Car Action to study hall and, flipping through the pages I was hooked. 3 days later I bought my very first hobby grade RC and started racing at Trackside Hobbies and Raceway in Brown Deer, WI.

Over the following years, I raced at a local, regional, and national level for many years. The highlight came in 2001, when I nearly won a national championship. In 2002 I took my first job within the RC industry, working as a contributing author for RC Car Action Magazine, the very publication that got me hooked on RC Cars. In 2003, I had a chance to join some truly remarkable people and help launch an all-new publication, RC Driver Magazine.

In 2005 I was blessed to have the opportunity to join the ranks of one of the largest distributors and manufacturers of RC hobby products in the world, Horizon Hobby. Horizon has been my home for nearly 14 years, and I created a bit of a legacy here. I launched the company's first foray into social media with the HorizonRCdotCom YouTube channel in 2007. I launched the company's podcast in 2008. I helped manage and curate the Facebook pages for the different brands in the company. It was something truly lucky for me to do, getting paid to play with toy cars for bowling trophies

With all this history it's weird to be saying this, but I will no longer be working for Horizon Hobby as of early February 2019. I am moving on, taking a role with a new company where I will be continuing in my craft to create social content, produce videos, manage different products and lines and much more. It's a very exciting prospect for me, albeit a bit bittersweet. My time at Horizon taught me a lot, I truly wish them nothing but the best as I have many friends and extended family that still work there. There are many amazing people that I will be leaving behind and I will miss.

That being said, I will be expanding the content on RoXolid Productions to include more RC content moving forward. I didn't want to have RC the channel because I didn't want people to cry foul or claim there was a conflict of interest. I am not going into YouTubing full-time, but I am hoping that adding this additional content to the channel just helps build what we are trying to do

Speaking of what we are trying to do here, thank you to everyone who has donated and contributed to the channel as we have recently purchased a Canon T7i DSLR camera. I'm hoping the video quality will continue to improve, the picture quality should be much better, and overall I'm excited to bring this enhancement to the channel. It would not be possible with all the love and support of you, our friends, subscribers, Patreon supporters, and this awesome community.

Just remember, every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end....
