Play Virtual Boy on Your Modern TV! PRGE 2019 Castlemania Games Interview

In this video, we visit with friend of the channel and supporter Ryan from CastlemaniaGames and learn what's going on at the castle.

One of the earliest supporters of us here on the channel was Ryan a Castlemania Games. As such anytime I have a chance to hang out with him I always look forward to it. the two of us worked almost the entire weekend together in his booth, and man it was tiring but it was a blast. I also got some inside information that we were able to share with you now about some cool things coming to Castlemania games

Perhaps one of the coolest things that I saw at the show anywhere was the mod kit Ryan had set up that would allow you to play your Nintendo Virtual Boy on a regular TV. I love my Virtual Boy, I have about half of the library, it's just not always the most convenient to set up and play. This definitely eliminates that issue, and one nice thing to is if you have a lens that is not working properly anymore this will help you and make it possible for you to enjoy your virtual Boy again by bypassing the lenses. He did indicate he considers this to be an expert level mod, so if you are not comfortable with such a thing to make sure you reach out to the modding community.

Ryan was also excited to have some really cool gear on hand, including the Insurrection Industries component video cables for the Nintendo GameCube. And am I glad he did because it provided some clarity compared to some of the first pictures I had seen. The cables themselves just have BNC connectors on them, great if you have a PVM or some sort of high and video monitor, but the vast majority of gamers do not have this. Thankfully, Insurrection includes a set of BNC to RCA pass-through connectors, allowing you to connect this to any TV, a Framemeister, OSSC, or RetroTink. What this means is that there is really no need to overspend on OEM component video cables any longer, between these or the Carby, you have two great ways to have high-quality video from your GameCube.

There are a lot of new items coming to the castle, including the upcoming release of metal Storm from retro bit. the best way to guarantee that you have a copy is to pre-order one now, and you can also be kept the most informed and up-to-date by subscribing to his email newsletter.
