One of the great things about the Nintendo Switch is both it's portability and it's ability to dock to a TV for at-home play. While the included dock works well for one TV far too often you're left wanting to play on another television or when you're away from home. You could buy another Nintendo dock but, at $90, that's not an easy investment.
This is where CharJenPro comes into play. They have been manufacturing USB-C accessories for PC for sometime and have turned their expertise towards the Nintendo Switch with one of their first offerings for the hybrid console, the SWITCHUB. Designed to duplicate the experience of the stock OEM dock in functionality the SWITCHUB has the exact same number of USB 2.0, USB 3.0, USB-C and HDMI ports as the original hardware.
The CharJenPro SWITCHUB comes out of the box as the dock itself; the user is left to use an existing USB-C power supply (15v, 2.6A recommended) and HDMI 2.0 cable. While other docks include those accessories in the box no other dock has claimed 4K compatibility, so there is a bit of a trade-off there. The power supply and HDMI cable that the Switch comes with out of the box is actually what CharJenPro recommend to use with the SWITCHUB.
While the video was rendering on my PC I did take some time to play some Super Mario Odyssey and I will say the colors did seem to pop a lot more than with the stock Nintendo Dock and the Nyko dock that I have been using as of late. I also am amazed at just how tiny this dock is, it's amazingly small! And for those who have concerns regarding heat and scratching of your screen while using the OEM dock from Nintendo or other docks the CharJenPro SWITCHUB is designed to not put your display at risk and also maximize cooling and airflow to the Switch itself.
