04 The name matters
Did you know that some Christians change the name of Christ when they cross the borders of certain countries?
They pronounce a different name in Poland and a completely different one in France, England, Spain and many other countries.
Followers of the same religion pray to Christ using a completely different name.
And it has nothing to do with national languages, because, for example, a German and a Pole speak different languages, but they pronounce the name of Christ the same.
If we were to translate the name Christ into the vernacular, we would say Saviour, because that is the translation, so the form Jesus is not native to the language of the nation.
So does the name of Christ matter?
The apostles preached:
Salvation is not found in anyone else, and no other name has been given to men under heaven by which salvation is possible.
What do you think? Are those who say that names don't matter right? Or were the apostles right when they said that all people on earth were given only one name?
