Take Your N64 to the Dark Side - How to Install a Custom Painted Star Wars Case on Your N64

In this video, we demonstrate how to swap out the case on your Nintendo 64 with a custom Star Wars-inspired case to really make your system unique.

At the 2018 Missouri Game Con, we noticed a booth that was selling different systems with custom airbrushed cases. At the time, I really fell in love with one particular N64 with an airbrushed Darth Vader Case. Ginger kept trying to talk me into getting it but, they didn't know the serial number of the system I passed on it because I didn't know if I could RGB mod it or not.

This year, that vendor was back again at MoGameCon, but with a twist. Instead of selling complete systems they were just selling the cases. Best of all, the Darth Vader Shell was back, and for $20 this was an easy sell for me!

To perform this task, you're going to need a few basic tools:
4.5MM game bit
#00 Phillips Screw Driver
#1 Phillips Screw Driver

The overall disassembly and reassembly process is super easy! It's all about removing screws and reinstalling them in the new case. While I was inside the case, I did take time to transfer over my region-free cartridge slot bay I installed. What is great about this is that I can now play both US NTSC and Japanese NTSC-J N64 games on what I am not calling the Darth Sith-ty Force. When combined with either my HD Retrovision cables or my Eon Gaming Super 64, this system looks great in my stand and on my television.
