In this video, we unbox and test out the Kootek DualShock Dual Controller Charging stand for the Sony PlayStation 4.

I haven't talked about it much but I love my PlayStation 4. Sure, my Nintendo Switch gets featured a lot but, to be totally honest, my PS4 is my primary gaming machine. One of the reasons why is the DualShock 4 controller, it is super comfortable, has good range and battery life. When it comes time to charge your DualShock controller, however, you traditionally have to connect your controller to the PS4 and just leave it laying around. I know many will giggle at this but I hate clutter and having controllers just sitting on shelves irritates me. This is where the Kootek DualShock Controller Charger comes into play, it seeks to clean up your shelving and do a better job of charging your controller.

This micro-USB powered block can charge 2 controllers at one time and, unlike other chargers out there, it charges through the connector on the bottom of the controller, not the Micro USB port on the top. There are 2 different indicators on the front of the block itself to tell the charge status of your controller at a glance. If the controller is fully charged the icon will be blue. If it is charging the icon will be red. This is pretty simple yet very effective.

For over a year I've used a vertical charging stand for my PS4. Not only does it provide additional cooling but it also provided charging slots for 2 controllers. The problem with this setup, however, is that I can't always tell if my controllers are properly charging as the LED indicator is covered by the stand itself. There has been more than a few times when I thought I was grabbing a charged controller but it was only partially charged.

The Kootek Charging Block works perfectly each and every time I put any of my 3 controllers on it. The LED indicator was awesome, I knew my controllers were charged at a glance. I used everything from my CharJenPro multi-USB charging stand to the charging bring from my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and it worked flawlessly each and every time. Best of all I can now ditch the charging stand I was using which added height to my PS4, making it easier for me to put it on other shelves vertically or horizontal.

Why it RoX:
- Only $8.99
- Micro USB power input
- LED Charge Status Indicator
- Fast and quality charge
- Compact

What could be improved?
- Packaging is uninspired
- More color options would be great
- LED Indicators could be brighter

Should you buy one?
If you have a PS4 I can't recommend this highly enough. It's simple and straight forward to use and, best of all, it just works! It will help clean up your storage or shelving and, best of all, it's under 10-bucks! You really can't go wrong!
