In this video, we unbox and test out the Mumba Deluxe Protective Travel Carry Case Pouch for Nintendo Switch.

Going places. I remember doing it often. I also remember taking it for granted, before COVID-19 hit that is. When going places, I generally took my Nintendo Switch with me to help pass the time while flying or to decompress in the hotel afterwards. But one of the scary things about traveling with the Switch is doing so without any protection. That's where Mumba comes in with their Deluxe Protective Travel Carry Case Pouch for Nintendo Switch.

The Travel Carry Pouch comes in 3 colors as seen here, black, blue, and camouflage. All three are identical, minus the exterior color of course. A dual-zipper keeps the case closed when traveling, and the harder exterior shell provides a decent amount of protection to your Switch in a backpack or shoulder bag. Regardless of the color of the case, a black wrist strap is also included. I do wish that a wrist strap that matched the color of the case was included, but since I generally don't use them, black works.

Inside the case, a single elastic elastic strap holds the Switch in-place in the lower 1/2. The upper 1/2 has a zippered pouch where you can store headphones, extra JoyCons, USB-C cables, or other accessories. I would not recommend storing the OEM Nintendo Power Supply here as it does place some pressure on the display when shut. In the middle of the case is storage for a whopping 20 Switch Games! That's massive! On other similar cases, the top of the cartridge opening has elastic to keep the games from falling out. On the Mumba case, there's nothing except the stitching in the case. And getting your carts around that can take some practice, but it is possible.

Having recently reviewed Mumba's Heavy Duty Grip Case for the Switch (which you can check out here https://youtu.be/-XBvLbsheU4) I was very pleased at how well the Switch fit inside the Protective Travel Carry Case with the Heavy Duty Grip installed. While the fit is snug with the system outside of a case, it was perfectly at home with the Grip Case. In-fact, I was able to also store the Switch Lite in this case separately without any issue.

Why it RoX:
- Under $25
- 3 color options
- Storage for 20 games
- Compatible with Mumba and other manufacturer's grip cases
- Can also work with the Switch Lite
- Zippered pouch to store accessories
- Dual Zippers
- Wrist Strap Included

What Could Be Improved?
- Wrist strap colors should match case
- Removing games from sleeve can be a pain
- I wouldn't recommend storing the OEM power supply in this

Should You Buy One?
If you travel with your Switch you definitely should have some sort of transportation case. The folks at Mumba have stepped up their game with the quality and features of their Switch Accessories, and the Deluxe Travel Carry Case is no different. It provides good protection and a lot of storage for an affordable price. While there are just a few quibbles I have with it, mostly related to the challenge I encountered getting games out of the pouches, this is a pretty robust, stylish, and durable case for the Switch, and the blue really pops! I can't wait for this stupid virus to go away so we can get back to going places, because the Mumba Travel Carry Case is a great way to transport my Switch wherever I may roam.
