Christmas Eve Unboxing: Blaster Master Zero & More from Limited Run Games!

In this YouTube #Short, we take a look at our latest box and order we received from Limited Run Games.

If you haven't been able to tell, I am a big fan of physical media. Whether we're talking about games or movies, I prefer to have a physical cartridge or disc in hand. This is one of the reasons why I appreciate the hard work from the folks at Limited Run Games, especially when it comes to games that were only released digitally but I would like a physical copy.

SunSoft created a masterpiece with the original Blaster Master for the NES, and in recent years they actually released two follow-ups to that game in Blaster Master Zero and Blaster Master Zero II. I managed to snag both of them digitally for a fairly inexpensive price, I don't think I paid more than $6 for either of them, but I knew I wanted to have a physical version as well. When I saw Limited Run Games announced the pre-order in early 2020, I jumped on the order.

Since I am not a super fan of Blaster Master, just a casual fan who enjoys the series, I opted for the standard releases of both cartridges that included the cartridge itself, and a wonderful looking case for the Switch. In addition to the Switch versions, they even released versions for the PlayStation 4. One of the things I did not expect was a playing card of two characters, one from each game, included in the box. These are the sorts of nice touches that Limited Run adds to their orders, even if you don't order the super duper expensive collector's edition sets.

For now, these will remain sealed and in the box. As I mentioned, I actually own both of these games digitally on the Switch, so the need for me to open these is not as high as for some others. I consider this more a way of future proofing to ensure that I can play these games today, tomorrow, and into the future.
