in this video, we share our 2020 Black Friday and Cyber Week pickups for the NES, Super Nintendo, Master System, Switch, Xbox, and more.

Black Friday and Cyber Week is one of the best times to invest in electronics, whether gaming related or otherwise. While I have recently picked up a PlayStation 5, I still had other of additional gaming items and accessories I was on the lookout for. I wanted to shop locally as much as possible, however, there were a few items I needed to get from big box stores. In-all, I wound up buying from Facebook Marketplace, Target, Walmart, Live Action Games, and Disc Replay.

Facebook Marketplace
Shortly before Black Friday, I actually found a great deal on Facebook for an Xbox One S. I have an original Xbox One, which I hate how slow and ginormous the system is. I also wanted a system that played UHD 4K discs, which the original did not. The price for the system was smoking, and I bought it knowing that I needed to replace the HDMI port. What I didn't expect was the family of cockroaches that moved inside as well. This is going to be a project for a future video, but let's just say it was DISGUSTING!

Target:
3 Month Gamepass Membership (x2)
12 Month Family Switch Online Membership
WWE 2K Battlegrounds

I admit that playing wrestling games is something I enjoy, and there haven't been any real options for the Switch. Well, 2K's Battlegrounds adds a cartooney graphical style with arcade gameplay to create what looks to be a casual yet fun entry into the genre. For $14.99, I was willing to give it a shot.

With a new (to me) Xbox One S, I decided to try Gamepass again, thanks to a killer deal from Target. I was able to get 6 months worth of Gamepass for only $40 (although it appears I could have gotten a year for $30 but didn't see that until recently). I've not been super impressed with Gamepass when I tried it in the past, so it'll be interesting to see how it is now.

Finally, when I was in the store picking up Battlegrounds I heard another customer ask where the 12-monthly family Switch Online membership cards were because they were on sale for $19.99 (instead of the normal $35)! Well now, with Ginger playing Animal Crossing and us sharing a family account, the was a no-brainer impulse buy.

Walmart:
Blue Shock Xbox Series X/S controller
I have talked in the past at how much I dislike the XBox controllers, leading back to the Duke thru to the Xbox One controllers. When I saw the Shock Blue Xbox Series X/S controller, I really liked the overall design and color scheme, but I had no intention of buying a new Xbox. When they said it was compatible with the One series of systems, I was intrigued, and when I saw it on sale for $40 I was in. It does look good, but for crying out loud, can Microsoft just ditch AA's already?

Live Action Games:
Ducktales 2 (Game Boy)
SNES Cartridge Storage
I wanted to shop local this Small Business Saturday, and my first stop was to LAG. He was running a 20% off sale on most items, and when I saw a copy of Ducktales 2 for the Game Boy I needed to pick it up. Add to that 2 SNES Cartridge Storage Units that will hold 18-games each, I had to grab them. This was a low-key visit, but I was glad I could still help support the store.

Disc Replay:
Elevator Action
8-Eyes
Bill Elliot's Nascar Challenge
Revenge of the Sith (UHD BluRay)
Disc Replay was running a deal where NES games under $24.99 were 50% off. I haven't added to the NES collection in a bit, but I found 3 games to add. I'd been eyeballing a copy of 8-Eyes they've had for awhile, but kept passing on it due to label damage. For $5, I made the plunge. Castlemania Ryan has been after me to stream some Elevator Action, and again for $5, fine Ryan, I'll do it soon. Finally, I picked up a copy of Bill Elliot's Nascar Challenge for under $2, in good condition. My final pick up was a copy of Revenge of the Sith on UHD, my first such movie. I'm interested to see how the visuals look compare to standard Blu Ray!

Spent: $206
Value: $495
Savings: $289
