How do you clean your retro video game cartridges? Well, if you want them to last do NOT follow the suggestions that DKOldies have on their website, which directly contradicts their own content they posted just a week prior. What do I mean? Check out the links below:

This has good tips in here, but just days later, DAYS LATER, they posted this:
Posted 5/12/14 - https://www.dkoldies.com/blog/get-your-nes-games-to-work-every-time/

In their own words:

"NES games blinking? Do you think your Nintendo Entertainment System is broken? Try this fail proof gaming fix from DKOldies.Com and it’s so simple, anyone can do it.

1. When In Doubt, Blow.

It may seem silly, but the NES pin in the system needs to touch the game chip. The tiniest piece of dust could prevent this from happening. You will find that this age old trick actually works. Try blowing into the open end of your game and system to remove any dust. "

What a fail, you should never blow in your games. It is not like they didn't follow up on this, as this was posted a later by them as well:

So listen, I have no ill will toward DKOldies at all. I've never purchased from them, never been "scammed" as others claim, or anything along those lines. But I do take issue with them putting out content that instructs people to take courses of action that will cause damage to their games if they follow their instructions. They clearly update this suggestion and post new articles to the blog, why did they leave this terrible piece up on the site? You should never do this, never blow in your cartridges. If you want to see how to clean your games properly, here is how you can do it and NOT cause damage to your games:

Come on DKOldies, do better. This is an example of DKOldies Bad Advice, something you should never do. Whatever you do, DON'T DO THIS, THEY BLEW IT AGAIN.
