1978 Yamaha XS650 Street Scrambler Build episode 23

This bike began life as a 1978 XS650 Special and was collecting dust for several years in a barn in Oregon. The previous owner had done certain modifications to the bike and when we got it it ran fairly good and had a clear title, so that's not a bad start to a bike build. This bike ended up being a bit of a last hurrah in regards to me building bikes. My overall health prevents me from doing this sort of work any longer. But I tried to go out with a bang.
I went through it top to bottom and made some changes and replaced a lot of worn out parts.

The end result is what you see here.
