Sker Ritual Is Such A Nerve Wracking Lovecraft Horror Game.
Do you ever see a game trailer that instantly makes you want to try the game out & then instantly regret doing so?
Well, that's what Sker Ritual was like for me.
It's an arena survival Wave game. Sure you can play it solo but it is a multiplayer game.
What attracted me originally was the purely Lovecraftian Horror vibe the trailer gave off. Nothing of the sort to be found in the demo from what I've played.
It's a great looking indie game, it can be fun but there are a lot of things that made it less so as I played.
1, you have 15 seconds between waves & have to make instantaneous choices of buffs that usually get you attacked before you read all the options available to you.
2, the environments are way too cluttered. Most of the time I took damage was due to environmental obstructions. It's very claustrophobic at every turn.
My last in game death was the last straw, I got caught between the door & a pillar.
Give the player room to move around, less clutter to get stuck on is what I'm saying or make the map bigger.
The big Bads they start throwing in after the 4 round are a great touch & there is a great deal of variety in enemies just in the demo alone.
So there are a LOT of positives but also a LOT of Negatives.
Good luck on your game @WalesInteractive you have a lot of potential in this one.
