Cop Enters Violent Confrontation With Suspect Reported For Disturbance

This dramatic footage shows an Arizona cop shooting a man who attacked him while the officer was investigating a report about the man's "disruptive behaviour".

The incident took place near 27th Avenue and McDowell Road in Phoenix, Arizona State on 8th March.

The officer responded to two calls at a local business, one from a man wanting to turn himself in and another from an employee reporting the man's disruptive behaviour.

When the officer arrived, he escorted the man outside, where the suspect attacked the officer, prompting him to use his taser.

After the suspect continued his assault, the officer fired his duty weapon in self-defence.

The suspect was treated on the scene and transported to a hospital in serious but stable condition.

An internal and criminal investigation is underway to determine if the officer's actions were consistent with department policy and the law.

The officer, with six years of service, is assigned to the Maryvale Estrella Mountain Precinct.
